JOHN TURNER .

John Turner is a multi-award winning, London based director with a background in professional cricket, who has also been a creative director at a globally renowned brand. He is a poetic director, capable of working across multiple genres to bring human stories to life.

 

John’s beautiful imagery, cinematic quality and ability to capture human emotion have led him to create powerful films for Teva, NiQuitin, Make A Wish and Notonthehighstreet to name a few. His passion for film and imagery means that his work covers, commercials, photography and long form, all of which have taken him across the globe on diverse and creatively exceptional projects.  His film Teva ‘Hairspray’ has been awarded Gold and Silver in the Pharma category at Cannes Lions 2021/2022 with Jury President, Anne De Shweinitz exclaiming, “For me this a perfect film. It brings so much in such a condensed way…from a craft perspective, the music, the shots…it’s just perfect!”

 

He has also made an emotive charity film, 'Live Life Then Give Life’, followed denim hunters across the badlands of America and explored the meaning of community in ‘The Club’. John’s work hits straight to the heart, whatever his subject matter, driven by a genuine love of seeing the world through a lens. John has a gift for drawing the viewer in, whilst gently extracting authentic and human performances that resonate. His Christmas film for Notonthehighstreet beat most big named brands both here and in the U.S. to be awarded one of the most emotionally engaging, Christmas films of 2021.

 

His work has won a plethora of awards, including ‘Best in Show’ at PM Society, Promax Gold for “Best Newcomer”, Promax Silver (World) and Gold (Europe), in the “Best Director” categories, a Clio, Silver at The One Show and of course a Gold and Silver Cannes Lions 2021/2022.
